I’m sitting here scratching my head. I already had something written for this post but after reading it today, I determined to scrap it for another day.
I feel like I’ve been beating the same drum this year.

Rest in Jesus.
Press In.
Go Deep With Him.

But this is where I am. These are the things the Lord has continually pressed on my heart and faithfully taught me during this leg of my journey with Him.

I read a meme earlier that said “The valley will teach you lessons the mountaintop never could.”

It’s true.

We often don’t fully appreciate something until we experience it [or the loss of it]. For example, it’s easy to say “God will never leave me” but we won’t fully understand and cherish that truth until we’re placed in a circumstance where we feel absolutely alone yet He feels closer than ever.

Rest in Jesus.
Press In.
Go Deep With Him.

All of these keep rushing into my life through various circumstances. They weave and wrap themselves around my pain bringing me the deepest comforts when life doesn’t go as planned.

Pain can drive us to Him or away from Him. Sometimes within the same day.
But the sweetest experiences are when Jesus meets me in my distress, comforts my heart and brings me hope. It’s peace on levels I’ve never known before and I’m always left wanting more.

Truly, He’s become more real and more beautiful to me than I could ever express and I know He will continue to astound me with Himself as I continue to abide with Him.

I want more of Him for myself and I want more of Him for you.

Press in and be comforted.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” II Cor. 1:3-4
